The Kite Runner #1
I have just recently started reading the kite runner it is about a boy in Kabul named Amir. He is the son of the very rich and powerful Baba. Him and his servant are good friends, his servant is not seen as an equal though because he is a Hazara. Amir and Hassan do everything together, Hassan enjoys when Amir reads to him. So far I have really enjoyed this book and am excited to keep reading more of it.

Lamb to The Slaughter
This is a story about a lady named Mrs. Mary Maloney she is deeply in love with her husband Patrick. One day her husband came home from a long day at work and he sat down and drank alot of whiskey. He told Mary he had something to tell her we all think he said that he couldn't be with her anymore. She is heartbroken but her whole life revolved around Patrick and now she doesn't know what to do. She goes downstairs and gets some lamb leg to cook for dinner when she comes up she asked Patrick if he wants dinner he yells at her and she hits him over the head with the lamb. She calls the police and she acts inocent and nobody suspects anything. She then gets to the police to eat the lamb. She knows that they will never find out. I think it was a good story and i don't blame her.

Gr. 9
I think the song "Grade 9" by the Barenaked Ladies describes what grade nines really feel on the first day of high school. A little bit of excitment and a little nervous, as you come to those big doors you stop and realize this is it my first day. You scramble to find your first class and get there just in time, after u asked one of the scary older kids. You have to walk in infront of the whole class they all stare and your stomach flops, you take a seat near the fron thats all thats left. Before you no it its lunch, where to go the cafeteria, home, outside, hallways? If the cafeteria what table with what kind of people? Your lost in a world of kids just like you. The day comes to a close you look back on the day and think hmm maybe i shouldn't of got myself all worked up it wasn't to bad.

Mella
I think its amazing how the story of Mella is so much like the Lion King, the stories are so simalar but told diffrently. Mella is an amazing story about how one girl with such courage, and bravery. Her Dad is dying and the only one who can save him is the python healer. But every person who goes to the python healer he usually eats for dinner. She loves her Dad so she faces her fear and lets the python healer wrap around her and she has to walk all the way back to her village where her father the king is dieing, and the python heals her father. As a reward of her bravery the python lets her take whatever gold treasure she wants from his cave. When Mella's older brothers find out about the treasure she warns the python healer, and he scared them off, they now both live way out in the jungle. I think this story teaches people to go for what the believe in and be brave.
